We just landed in Mumbai after a whirlwind but fruitful trip to Bangalore, where we were a part of The Morpheus’ Open Demo Day & Future Conference. The occasion was the graduation ceremony of the Batch 7 startups. In all, 11 startups were present at the convocation ceremony that saw them showcase their hard work to the media and investors. The event was hosted at the BOSCH on May 26, 2012.
We reached the venue early and were as excited as a kid on his first day at summer camp. Though Sutra was a part of Batch 2, we were invited to showcase sumHR, which is a new product. This has been quite important for us, as we are a services company and this is the first time we ventured in developing a product. For those of you don’t know what sumHR is, well it is a cloud-based end-to-end HR solution for companies.
sumHR’s very own Jay Thaker presented the product explaining the various useful features from the HR and Collaboration tools. The attendees were quite impressed with the slick user interface and the ease the product offers when managing various functions that are important to a human resource professional.
Being a startup and that too catering to the HR sector in India, we thoroughly understood the needs of the HRM, especially for small and emerging companies. Even before the showcase, sumHR has been well-accepted as 20 companies are using it as their official HRIS and 90+ companies are in the pipeline.
What made the event special was that everyone was tweeting about it and the term ‘oddfc’ became a trending topic in India. As an enabler to startups, we feel that this surely contributed positively to the startup scene in India. Some twitter users even confused the event to be some sort of a football club! Anyways, the event surely was a huge boost to sumHR. Our thanks to Sameer G and Nandini H of The Morpheus for providing us such a great platform!
